I have always enjoyed taking pictures, but it hasn’t been until recent years that I feel like I have discovered my place with photography.

In 1999 I quit my office job to join Suburban Rails, a small skatepark construction company out of Athens. During those first years it was amazing watching the company grow, and while I did get to do a good bit of traveling to different places, the best travels were yet to come.

In September of 2002, while driving to Las Vegas to do a skate park tradeshow, I drove through Colorado and Utah for the first time. In those two days I drove thought Glenwood Canyon on I-70, visited Arches National Park, woke up at Monument Valley, saw the Grand Canyon, and drove thought Zion National Park by chance. Those two days opened my eyes to the beauty that is out there. Now, any chance I get to travel or explore I take full advantage of.

I took over co-ownership of Suburban Rails, with my partners Harold and James, in 2004. The business, as well as my photography skills, keep getting better and better. In July 2004 Suburban Rails built a ramp for the MTV show “Battle of the Sexes - 2” and in June of last year the company built a ramp for ABC’s Extreme Make Over - Home Edition.

All my camera and photography knowledge comes from research and trial & error. I have never attended any photography classes. My approach to photography is simple: get out there, usually as early as possible, and capture the landscape or scene under unique lighting that most people never get to see.
